Segregation is unpredictable
Solids mixing forms an integral part of a
wide variety of industries, such as pharmaceuticals, metallurgy, ceramics,
food manufacture, agriculture, etc.; yet, our understanding of solids
mixing is incomplete. Despite a substantial amount of work in the
literature pertaining to the mixing of solids, there is not a full
understanding of the mixing of even the simplest case, that of two mechanically
identical powders.
